Hola, I’m Daniela!
I am a design major and a first-gen college student at The University of Texas at Austin, specializing in brand design. I am passionate about all things involving logos, color, and type! Additionally, I have previous experience as a Creative Director for a student organization, Freetail Hackers, where I managed a team of students and created the Freetail Hackers brand guide.
My design journey is somewhat unconventional; as a child of immigrants English was not my first language, and I didn’t understand much American media around me growing up. What did captivate me however was the design of things around me. As a child with no knowledge of the English language, colors and symbols spoke to me clearly. Whether it was a new toy to play with or a snack to beg for at the grocery store, design caught my attention without the need for words. Even now, as a college student, I recall these memories when I’m feeling stuck in my design process. Reminding myself that design has no boundaries or language.
When I’m not glued to my laptop screen, I love having a good conversation over coffee! I believe that good design is driven by human connection, and am always looking forward to getting to know one more person.
